Halftime Magazine Partners with The National Association of Music Parents
Free Subscription to Magazine to Benefit Current, Future AMP Members
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – Sept. 3, 2015—Halftime Magazine, the only lifestyle publication that presents the sights, sounds and spirit of all the marching arts, has joined forces with The National Association of Music Parents (AMP) as a Strategic Partner, announced L. Scott McCormick, president of AMP, and Christine Ngeo Katzman, magazine publisher.
“This is an exciting new strategic partnership that adds yet another real benefit for music parent associations, band booster organizations and other members of AMP,” said McCormick. “Halftime Magazine and AMP share a common mission in advocating for music in our schools. The goal of our collaboration is to provide mutual benefit to both AMP members and Halftime Magazine readers. Christine Katzman and I are sure there will be several music parent associations and band boosters organizations eager to sign up for their free subscription!”
Beginning with Halftime Magazine’s November 2015 issue, subscribers and readers of the magazine will find a new two-page editorial section dedicated to music parents. In addition, all current and new members of AMP will receive a free digital subscription to the magazine. The first 100 groups to sign up for AMP membership will receive a free 25 copy group subscription sent to one location.
“We are excited to be able to work with AMP to add a section in Halftime Magazine devoted to parents and boosters as they are integral members of the marching community,” Katzman said. “In addition, we are happy to provide AMP members with complimentary subscriptions, so they can be informed about various news and trends in the marching arts and take those ideas to improve their own programs. Halftime Magazine and AMP share a common vision to expand music through education and inspiration, so our partnership will be a win-win-win for the entire industry.”
Halftime Magazine (www.halftimemag.com) is published in a highly visual format. Its mission involves education, entertainment and inspiration to its readers—marching instructors, students, parents, alumni and fans. The magazine’s coverage includes high school, college, drum corps, winter guard, indoor percussion and all-age groups.
The National Association of Music Parents, or AMP, is a nonprofit, tax-exempt association whose mission is to build a grassroots national movement that brings together all stakeholders of music education, to defend the interests of music students and ensure that music and the arts remain an integral discipline within the core education system in America.
