The amazing, kind and talented Marc Whitt will step into my position with AMP on May 1st, and I couldn’t be more excited about that. In addition to his longtime role as AMPassador, he’s the associate vice president for public relations and chief communications officer at Eastern Kentucky University. A band dad three times over, he still plays trumpet with the Madison Community Band.
I’d like to thank Scott and Kris McCormick. Over the nearly 20 years I’ve known them, they’ve proven to be powerful and tireless advocates for music education. Scott has been a mentor and a friend, and has given me opportunities and memories I cherish. I would not be who I am today without him.
And of course, I thank you, gentle reader. Over the last two and a half years, you have been top of my mind nearly every waking moment as I created and curated all things music education, wondering if my efforts were worthy of your time. I hope the answer was, at least occasionally, “Yes.”
This isn’t goodbye. It’s more like, “I’ll be over here if you need me.”
